LITERATURE WORKSHOP - LAVAPIÉS

OCTOBER - NOVEMBER

Dijo el crítico literario, Harold Bloom, en la introducción del 150th aniversario de  Leaves of Grass:

If you are American, then Walt Whitman is your imaginative father and mother, even if, like myself, you have never composed a line of verse. You can nominate a fair number of literary works as candidates for the secular Scripture of the United States. They might include Melville's Moby-Dick, Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and Emerson's two series of Essays and The Conduct of Life. None of those, not even Emerson's, are as central as the first edition of Leaves of Grass^.

Añadiría que si no eres norteamericano, no se puede comprender ni conocer los EEUU si no se conoce a Walt Whitman.

Con motivo del feliz acontecimiento daremos un descanso a las felices madres y pasaremos la última  clase del workshop de Anglo-American Women Writers  al sábado 16.

SHERLOCK GOES ON STRIKE

Al parecer Watson decidió  apoyar la huelga general, así que Sherlock suspende la clase del miércoles 29.

El workshop se reanudará el miércoles 6 de octubre.
